EXTENDED ABSTRACT: Magnesium alloy with low density and excellent performance is internationally recognized as one of the most promising materials for lightweighting, and there is an urgent demand for structurally and functionally integrated magnesium alloy materials in aerospace, weapon, transportation, medical and other fields. However, the mechanical and functional properties of magnesium alloys are often difficult to be combined or even contradict each other. This report introduces the role of precipitation/solid solution, gradient structure and purity on the structural and functional properties of magnesium alloys, puts forward a new idea to synergistically regulate the mechanical properties and functional properties, and develops a new type of high-strength and high electromagnetic shielding, high-modulus and high-damping structure-functionality integration of magnesium alloys, which has been realized for applications in the fields of aerospace and rail transportation.

Keywords: Magnesium alloy; Structural-functional integration; Mechanical properties; Electromagnetic shielding; High modulus
